Not really awesome

It was super awesome last night when Asher decided to run directly into the corner of the kitchen table. He came within millimeters of his eyeball. I guess that's why God created eyebrows. Anyway it has been pretty dramatic ever since. He seems to be developing a black eye. I'm sure it really hurts. Not just because of how it looks but because he's been SUPER whiny ever since. We debated on taking him to get stitches, but ultimately decided he'd be okay with out it. He did however have a complete and total meltdown in nursery today and was "kicked out" when he was brought to Sheldon and my primary class we were teaching.

It was also super awesome today in primary when they passed out letters about lice to the kids. All the kids were to give their parent's the letters (basically saying don't bring your kid to church if they have lice). I assumed this was pretty standard start of school year practice. But then when Asher was getting ansy (remember he was kicked out of nursery so he was with us in primary) Sheldon took him out to the hall. One of the primary presidency members said to Sheldon "so, how do you guys feel about the lice thing." Sheldon was a bit confused until she all of the sudden realized they forgot to tell us that there is a kid in our class that has lice. Apparently they found out last week and had to call the parents of all the kids in our class. Too bad they forgot to tell the teachers! The poor kid wasn't supposed to be there today but I guess his mom felt like bringing him anyway. I had no idea and I was sitting next to him the whole time. I mean I don't want to alienate him but at the same time I REALLY don't want lice. So, that about sums up the last 24 hours.

Oh Dang!!!! You have not had a good day at all! Poor Asher too. I hope his eye gets feeling better... and I hope, for your sake that you dont have lice!!!

Does it itch? Just a little bit? Kinda over in front of your ear? Or maybe back on your neck? A little bit?

The eye looks like it will be okay without stitches. Really the lice issue isn't that big a deal - he hasn't got very much hair. It's also dark so you will see them if he has them. For you, just wash your hair for good measure and wash the clothes you were wearing and you should have no problem. If any of you get them they have a special shampoo at the drug store. What is really not fun is when one daughter with really long hair gets them and you have to do the shampoo and then comb all of the hair with that little bitty comb. Then you pray that that sister doesn't give them to the other three who also have really long hair! If the little kid in Primary had them last week and then had the treatment, then they will be gone and you would have nothing to worry about. Maybe you could check on that.

You're right, not fun at all. With the lice thing don't they get spread by contact? Like using the same comb or pillow or something? I don't think they jump, they crawl. I actually saw a news thing that claimed that not letting kids come to school because of lice was actually an overreaction. Don't know how true that is though. Google it.
