I haven't read the manual yet. (Yes I know, shame on me.) But, I am already loving my new camera. One of these days (hopefully soon) I will sit myself down to read the manual and learn a few tricks.
I really wanted the Canon Rebel, but ended up with the Nikon D40 (mainly b/c of the huge price difference). I read hours worth of reviews and decided the extra $400 really wasn't worth it. Not for my first SLR anyway.

Here is our neice. I'm sad that there is a shadow over her face but I think it's still adorable.

Isn't it amazing what a difference it makes?! Great shot of Asher; look at those gorgeous eyes! Just like his mama... Love you!
Holy cow! I can't believe the color of Asher's eyes- they're beautiful! Have fun with your new camera- I hope to have a nice one too one day :)
So I'm not trying to be a bandwagon groupie, but the first thing to pop out in that picture of Asher is the amazing color of his eyes! And did you take the picture in your topper with your new camera? I love that picture, also! You should visit me and take pictures. :) or just visit me. I miss you!!
I'm jealous that you have such a sweet camera. You'll have fun taking pictures, especially of your darling little Asher!
