So we tried to buy a Canon Rebel on Ebay about a month ago (for my birthday). The day after we bought it I got an email from the seller saying they were sorry but they didn't have any more black cameras in their inventory and asked if I would be okay with silver. It pretty much really irritated me that they had listed an item that they didn't have in stock and we had already paid for it. Before I had a chance to respond to the email I got another email the next day stating that the camera I bought was damaged during shipment to their warehouse. They asked if I would be willing to wait for it to become available again. Highly suspicious? I thought so. They send me two different excuses for why they don't have the item we bought. Oh and the kicker was when they offered us $10 on our next purchase with them. Why would a completely dissatisfied customer want a measely $10 towards a future purchase? I have no intention of ever shopping with them again. Is the $10 supposed to make up for the $600 item they failed to provide us after we paid for it?
So, we told them we wanted a refund.
One week later and after a couple phone calls to the company the money was credited back to our account.
Today I received an email from Ebay asking me to rate the seller. I gave them a bad review. THEN I receive an email from Ebay that the seller has requested my contact information (address and phone number). I am pretty sure they already had my address since they were supposedly going to ship me a camera at one point in time. But the phone number thing was kind of weird. What sort of freaked me out is the email also said to let Ebay know if the seller starts to "harass" me.
Not ten minutes later my phone started ringing. I didn't answer. It rang again and I didn't answer. They didn't leave a message, just kept calling. I know it was them because when I got that email from Ebay they also gave ME the sellers phone number and that's what kept popping up on my caller ID.
If you were me would you answer or even call them back? What do you think they're calling for? Do they want to make peace or are they just trying to harass me? Do you shop with Ebay? My dad buys and sells stuff on Ebay all the time and I have never heard him have an experience like this.

We had a few things happen like that. But never with a $600 purchase! What's the name of the company so I can make sure to avoid them?
That's freaky! We always shop and sell on KSL.com or Amazon.
Uh, that's weird. Really weird. I have no idea what else to say, but I've never bought anything on ebay. Tried, but never won my auctions. Couldn't you contact eBay about it? Seems that they should be able to give you some recourse, right? Amazon is great though. Always been pleased.
I've shopped ebay, never had any problems. I always purchase from people who have at least several hundred good ratings. I'd report the phone calls to ebay. If the company was trying to contact you for something legit, they'd leave a message.
Wow Shell that is crazy. I would definitely notify ebay. Hope they don't keep harassing you. Can't wait to see you in a few weeks.
