Sheldon and I were getting ready for bed and just being silly and talking in fake italian accents. One of the things I said in my accent was "buongiorno principessa!" and he was like "where did you come up with that?" I responded by asking him if he'd ever seen the movie Life Is Beautiful. Then I remembered a conversation we had months ago in which I discovered he had NOT ever seen the movie Life Is Beautiful. Shocking, yes I know. That's why I remembered he hadn't ever seen it. So again tonight, just as I did months ago, I said "I can't believe you've never seen Life Is Beautiful. It's a really great movie!"
I could tell he was a little annoyed that I was scolding him for not seeing it and so he says back to me (with an attitude) "I may not have seen it, but I know exactly what movie you're talking about. It's the one with John Cusack." Ok. I don't know if it's because it was midnight or what but I could NOT STOP LAUGHING when he said that. It was SO hilarious. John Cusack?? Of all the people to name. Let's just make a quick comparison:
I couldn't help but be reminded of THIS incident.
So, here is the icing on the cake. I looked up Life Is Beautiful online to show Sheldon a picture of the main character (Roberto Benigni) who by the way is ITALIAN since the whole movie is ITALIAN (which makes the John Cusack guess all the more hilarious). And Sheldon made his point. He said "I confused him with John Cusack because he looks just like him in that movie you have." I racked my brain... Say Anything, no. Better Off Dead, absolutely not. What is Sheldon smoking???
Then he got me-- The journey of Natty Gann.
Really. Sheldon told me it's all about the hats.
(and apparently he thought Natty Gann was a boy)
So, although it is totally random that he confused the movies I can (in some strange way) see how he got them confused.
And I requested Life Is Beautiful from the library and we'll be watching it this week.

Okay, I haven't laughed that hard since...since last night when I saw that hilarious picture of Asher with the Easter bunny. But this post is just too funny for words. AND just a couple days ago, I was telling Jose about The Journey of Natty Gann. He hasn't seen it and doesn't GET it. Gosh I love John Cusack.

This has happened to me SOOOOOOO many times with my friends... not this movie in particular, but in general. I was laughing so hard when I read this! Michelle, we are definitely related.
This is the type of thing that has happened to me often as well and this entry cracked me up! Now I want to watch the Journey of Natty Gann. In Sheldon's defense the covers to the movies do look really similar. I think it is all about the hats.
I also approve of you talking in fake Italian accents. This is something I do on a nearly daily basis.
They kind of look the same to me. :)
