The pictures are in a funky order, but I am way too tired to deal with Blogger's quirks right now. Basically, we just got back from visiting Sheldon in Texas and attending his BMT graduation. Here are some moments we captured on the camera:
The Alamo
Asher next to some HUMUNGOUS animals that are fake but made to look real (why?) and are in the lobby of a diner. I don't know... I'm not from Texas.
Yee haa!
The graduation ceremony
Petting the dolphins at Sea World
It was good to see Sheldon. I am SO proud of him! (And SOOOO glad Basic Training is over!) We had a great time with him and look forward to seeing him again in December for Christmas.

AWWWW! So exciting! So what's the next step? Does he stay there in the same place he was doing his training? What is he actually doing now that training is over? What's his rank? I'm so clueless when it comes to this stuff. I'd love to hear more.
The next step is called "Tech School" and he will be there until the end of January. Tech School is when they train them for their jobs in the military. He is staying at the same place for tech school, although that doesn't always happen. His rank is now an "Airman First Class." He has a slightly higher rank that most who graduate Basic Training because he already has an associates degree.
We are so glad that you were able to go out there and see Sheldon! We have really been thinking about the three of you a lot over the last few weeks. You're always in our thoughts and prayers!
Congrats Sheldon!

Hooray for Sheldon! I'm so happy that you all got to be together again, even for a short time! I know it's hard, but hang in there! Good luck with Tech School!
Oh. I cried. I love these pictures. I am so proud of Sheldon. This is such a HUGE accomplishment!!! I am so grateful for all the sacrifices that you are both making, and that all servicemen and women and their families make on our behalf. Can't wait to hear all about the trip, hint hint. Love you all!
I am with Kim. I teared up too. When I talked to Sheldon I asked him if he cried when he saw Asher because I probably would of cried watching it. I love the pictures with him and Asher you can tell they are both in heaven to be with eachother. Yeah Michelle the journey will soon be over. It is nice that you will be able to see him at Christmas. I am rooting for you guys to get stationed here for my own selfish reasons of wanting some family nearby. Hope all works our well though. I love you guys. Congrats Sheldon.
Yea for Sheldon! I have no idea how hard basic training was but I'm impressed! It's gotta get easier from here...
Sheldon,
