Off we go into the wild blue yonder, Climbing high into the sun...

Sheldon left today for Basic Training. It's exciting to begin this new portion of our lives, but also kinda tough. I am going to miss him a TON over the next few months. I am so grateful that we made this decision with a lot of thought and prayer because I know we are doing the right thing for us.

I just want to ask people to keep Sheldon in your prayers. I have a feeling that boot camp is going to be the hardest experience of his life. I do think he has an advantage because he is older and more mature than perhaps some of the others. I am still worried about him, however, and want him to feel the comfort and support that he'll undoubtedly need.

I am going to start writing him letters (even though I don't have his address yet) and if anyone has a message for me to pass onto him let me know!

Thanks for your support and prayers!

Hey sweetcakes. I've been thinking about you guys all day. We'll be praying for you all, too. I know Sheldon can handle this. He can do it. Believe me, because I've met a lot of total idiots that have made it through basic, and he is WAY more capable. It's always nice to remember though, that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that he won't be in hell forever. :)

Tell Sheldon good luck. He will do great. Isn't it awesome what a man will do to take care of his family! I hope you do okay while he's gone too. Are you in CA?

I'll be praying for you both. You know, Chandra's husband, Phil, said boot camp wasn't that bad. I guess it all depends on your definition of bad. God bless your family!

Michelle, I am sorry that we never found time to get together before Sheldon left. I'll be sure to keep him in my prayers. I'll keep you in my prayers too. I know you must be going through a tough time right now too. I know we don't know each other super well, but if you need ANYTHING please know that you can ask me for help. I'm excited to hear all about the fun experiences that your family will be going through over the next few months. Keep your blog updated so that I'm kept in the loop!

Wow, Sheldon's a brave man. Good job, him. Give me a call sometime when you feel like crying and I'll listen to you and then I'll try to think of something funny to make you laugh.
