There have been A LOT of things keeping us busy lately. Due to circumstances beyond my control and this glorious economy I am no longer working. It was a bittersweet change. We will miss my income, but I am SOOO excited to have about 40 extra hours per week to spend raising my sweet boy.
You can tell he's pretty happy about it too:
In light of the recent changes with me not working anymore, and after MUCH fasting and prayer Sheldon has decided to joing the US Air Force. At first I was a little resistant, but after learning more about the military and the benefits they offer I feel really good about it. Sheldon is really excited and has been working dilligently to get ready for boot camp at the end of the summer.
This is a video I took over the weekend. They had a public swearing in during the Motocross race here in SLC this weekend (random, huh?). It made me feel so proud of Sheldon.
Sheldon is in the front row. Unless you know which one he is you really can't see him clearly. I honestly feel like our little family will be so blessed through this experience. I am not very excited about how much Sheldon will be gone for trainings and deployment, but I truly think it will be a great opportunity for him to learn some amazing life skills.
We also went to California for my Dad's retirement. He just recently retired after 36 years on the San Jose Fire Department. Is it just me or am I surrounded by heroes? I am so proud of my Dad and it was SO fun to spend some time with my family.

I LOVE the top picture of Asher- he is just adorable!! How exciting you get to stay home with hum now :)! My nephew is in the air force & has made a really great life for himself- he loves it!! Good luck with all the exciting changes!
so sorry about your job michelle, that stinks. sounds like your family is up for an adventure!! good luck with it all!
Wow, I can't believe Sheldon joined the Air Force. Craziness! But, it's neat to hear about the faith you have that it will be a good experience for your family. Your boy is so dang cute! Love the blue eyes.
Hope you're all doing well! Drop us a line sometime.
P.S. we're going to be in the SLC area the first week of July. Will you guys be around?
Don't worry life is good in the military. We are really liking it and all the adventures that come with it. I do have to say I hate the single mom part of it when Justin leaves but the benefits and everything else are awesome. You meet tons of people just like you and they help you get through the times that you are lonely for your hubby.
We are also Air Force Michelle! Having your honey away for training/deployments is far from exciting! I'll tell you that part really REALLY stinks, but the benefits can be really great. We will really miss the "FREE" healthcare when our time is up! I have to say Thank you for joining the Air Force and not any of the "others"!! :) Good luck with everything! You'll love being a SAHM!!
If you have any Air Force questions let us know you guys!! We are up in Layton at Hill AF base right now - Josh could give your man a tour and tell you all the underground stuff!!
Such a fantastic, newsy post! I love the pictures, but especially the last one. I love it when the boys fall asleep together. It's just the sweetest thing on earth. I'm so proud of your little family. Change is difficult, but I'm sure it will be rewarding--for all of us! :)
Wow, big change! I didn't see that one coming. Good luck! I'm sure you will rock it!
Okay, I'm really happy for you that you get to stay home with Asher now. He is like the most prettiest thing ever--those eyes! :)
