trendy baby

Has anyone besides me noticed that lately everyone refers to their children by the first letter of their first name? I noticed this trend about two years ago and can see that it is catchin on like wild fire.

Here is a question... where did this trend come from? Was it around before I noticed people doing it? Has anyone else noticed that some letters are cute and other just aren't? How can a letter be cute? I really don't know but it truly seems to be the case. I think the letter "Z" or "C" as a nickname can be cute, but "A" or "E" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I usually buck trends like CRAZY but I can't lie this one is kinda cute. Although it seems to be getting out of hand and scares me that some day none of us will have real names only letters for names. Like some creepy sci-fi movie.

I think people consider it a privacy issue. My friends that do it, just don't want people to know their kids name. I don't really get it myself. And I'm certainly don't want to call my kids A1 and A2.

I think it's because people don't want strangers knowing their kids names. Still, I hate it.

Yeah, I've noticed it & thought it was kinda weird. 'Course, for all my nicknames I just add an "ey" or "s" to the end of the regular name (like Romey or Peters) so maybe I'm the weird one :)

This made me laugh so hard. I started calling Breea "B" a few months ago and David asked me why?? She is all over the place and gets into everything. Saying "B" a million times a day saves so much time when compared to saying Breea a million times a day.

I think people use it so the weird stalker blog people don't know their kids names, and I always call Berkleigh "B", just cause it is way easier to say. I never call Merrick "M" that sounds ridiculous.

Love the header with Asher and his mush. He is really cute.

We call Turner T but really how else can you shorted Turner? Turn? No it doesn't work. I had a couple of roommates one year that called each other by their first inital and that is really where I got it from, I haven't noticed other parents doing it. I guess I am just out of the loop. We don't call Max M we call him Moo.

my opinion is it depends on the name, i would never call reagan 'r' but we call my niece zaylie 'z' and it just seems to go with her! to each their own!!

The whole internet child protection thing kinda makes sense. I still think it's a cute trend to use in real life not just on a blog. I do however see that it is everywhere now which is why I noticed it and just had to comment.

Hmmm, I thought I started that trend.:) Maybe it's just the laziness in people. Saying "V" takes less work than saying "Vessel." ;)
