SNAKES!!!!!!!
I saw the first snake the other day and totally flipped out. I was just minding my own business watering my garden and there it was curled up like it owned the place. No Mr. Snake- I pay the mortgage and you are not a welcome tenant! There is just something about snakes that totally creeps me out. I was convinced it would try to get in our house and everyone told me I was crazy. Whatever, I read Rikki-Tikki-Tavi as a child.
So then on Saturday I was letting the dog out and guess what I saw about halfway up the stair rail to our back door??? A snake.
It's time to move. Ok, well not really but I am deathly afraid of snakes... no matter how big or small. I took this picture with my camera phone so it's a little blurry. If anyone could identify the species I would appreciate it. It's probably some harmless garter or water snake.... but I don't care. I totally hate it.

Oh my gross. I hate snakes too. I'm afraid if Sam saw a real snake she would try to pick it up and make a "lake" for it like she does with worms. Eww...kill the thing. Just wack and run.
i'm not so scared of snakes. don't want to touch them, but not terrified of them. spiders, on the other hand....AHHHH!
we have snakes in our parking lot and last summer i stepped on one in my bare feet! it was nuts. it just slithered away and i went about my business. but if i had stepped on a spider in my bare feet i might have had to cut my foot off.
i would be pretty freaked out too that it would find a way into my house! i hope it doesn't have any friends lurking around!!
Just name the snake and embrace him as a new member of the family. You say he is free-loading on the property that you pay for, but in reality he is probably just keeping your property clear of other free-loaders such as mice or crickets. For what it's worth, I think "Mr. Belding" would make for a GREAT snake name...think about it!
EEEWWWW!!! I hate snakes, too! Just the thought of one in my backyard is freaky! I'm so sorry Michelle!
Shell, I love to see the post come with a picture. My favorite is that your post is almost verbatim of what you said to me on the phone the other day. I also, being fully aware of your snake phobia, am very impressed that you stayed long enough to get a picture. Good luck with either cohabitation or destruction of the snake. Hey call me when you can ok. I have a question about Donner.
AHHHH!! I have NEVER seen a snake in real life (except at the zoo)! You are a brave women for taking a PICTURE!
I don't mind snakes, but that is creepy to watch it come up your back porch.
That is disgusting!!! I had to chop off a snakes head with a shovel last summer because my cat was playing with it. Well it struck my cat and wouldnt let go. So i had to do something and i wasnt about to let that stupid slithering fool keep biting my poor cat. I hope the snake though biting the feline was worth it.. cause it was it's last act!! Sorry about the snakes Michelle!!
Uh, what the heck are you supposed to do about a "snake" problem...you know, like how I have Home Team Pest Defense come spray down my entire house for critters every 2 months...what can be done about this???????????
Wow, who would have thought a snake could cause such an uprising?
Logan, couldn't help noticing your comment and looking at your profile. Congratulations on your soon-to-be-born baby. I like the name Mr. Belding too. Maybe you should consider it for your baby.
